Review
"Once I purchased, and started reading the book I had a hard time putting it down . . . rates as one of my favorite all time reads on movement."
-- Jamie Hale, M.S., cognitive scientist and author of In Evidence We Trust, maxcondition.com.
"Simply put, this book is the most important book on movement in the last 20 years, possibly in existence up to this point. It will become a required reading for every movement professional to truly understand movement and pain."
-- Leonard Van Gelder, DPT, ATC, CSCS, dynamicprinciples.wordpress.com
"It's almost infuriating how good this book is . . . It is both refreshing and inspiring to read something of this quality. This is definitely a resource I will be referring back to for quite some time."
-- Matt Danziger, personal trainer, truemovement.net.
"I truly enjoyed reading this book; It details some wonderful activation exercises and mobility work, some familiar to me and some new. At the rate it's going, though, I will wear out the binding because I am continually referring to the book throughout my mobility/movement "practice time. Great job!" --Chip Morton, Professional Football Strength & Conditioning Coach, Cincinnati, Ohio

Well worth your money and time
By Ryan S. Crandall
It's not often that one finds a book that combines the latest research in an easily readable format, but Todd Hargrove has done it in his book 'A Guide to Better Movement'. In his book, Todd writes a compelling case for looking at pain and movement from a neuroscience perspective. It's written at a level for the professional (Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, Personal Trainer) on down to the lay person who is in pain and needs help. Understanding the science behind pain is relatively new and unfortunately not many professionals have taken the time to learn the basics of it. With this book, they will have a much better understand of dealing with people in pain especially folks in chronic pain.
Read it and practice the great focused movements in the end!

A must for people with chronic pain
By Kerima Furniss
A fabulous book. A must for athletes, and for people with chronic pain, even if you are not athletic at all. Todd lays out how movement works, what chronic pain is, how to approach moving in new ways. I have been studying these topics for years, and my book is totally underlined, starred and tagged with special stars for new discoveries. It is a big book, easy to handle, easy to read, but never simplistic.
The second part has many movement to try out, including my favorite floor "roll" that I have not seen anyone teach since I learned it 20 years ago.
Todd has done his research and is able to convey what he has discovered, so that the rest of us can move forward with more ease.
Thank you Todd.

I love this book
By Alice Sanvito, Licensed Massage Therapist
I love this book! It's very thorough yet easy to read. It helps you understand how pain works, how movement works (and doesn't), and how to find ways of breaking bad movement patterns and replacing them with better ones. Based on current research, it helps you to understand why some of the things we were taught in the past turned out not to be correct and gives you updated information on putting current pain science to work in your life. This book would be useful for anyone trying to get out of pain or anyone who works with people with pain. Also very useful for athletes, performing artists, people whose work causes them to get stiff and achy. I can't say enough good things about this book. I'm definitely recommending to it my clients who live with chronic pain.
